Pathway Healthcare’s Jackson, MS Addiction Treatment Center Relocates To Baptist Medical Center Campus
– Pathway Healthcare, a leading provider of office-based medical and behavioral treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and dependency, has moved its Pathway Healthcare office in Jackson, MS, to a new location on the Baptist Medical Center campus. Pathway Healthcare specializes in treating opioid use disorder, alcohol dependency, and other drug use disorders through a proprietary care model, known as MAT Plus®, that combines medication-assisted treatment with behavioral counseling.
Dr. W. Lelon Aron is the Medical Director for the Jackson office. Dr. Aron has practiced in Mississippi for more than 40 years and has been an expert in treating addiction and substance use disorders for more than 30 years.
Twenty-one million Americans suffer from some form of alcohol or substance use disorder. In 2016, 42,200 Americans died from opioid-related drug overdoses. Mississippi had 563 reported drug overdose deaths from 2013-2016 and in 2015 had the fifth highest number of opioid pain reliever prescriptions per person in the nation.
“We are excited to move Pathway Healthcare into Baptist Medical Center, as this will improve access to care for people suffering from substance use disorder,” said Scott Olson, CEO of Pathway Healthcare. “By moving into a hospital setting, we can break down the stigma associated with substance use disorder and bring addiction medicine into the mainstream, which will help people get the care they need.”
With Mississippi locations in Columbus, Jackson, and Vicksburg, Pathway Healthcare is aggressively working to increase access to care in Mississippi and throughout the country. Pathway Healthcare believes that a combination of medication and counseling is the best way to bring about recovery in patients suffering from substance use disorders.
